When you do it…. eeeeeeeeeeBay!

Step 1: Find the irony in this picture and win a cookie. (I’m the seller in this transaction)

Step 2: Realize that eBay’s feedback system has become completely and utterly ridiculous and I no longer trust it at all.

Step 3: Never do business on eBay again.

Is the irony that there is no way to select “Negative” as the experience? Just positive or “later”?

Yeah, eBay doesn’t let sellers leave negative or neutral feedback anymore, and there’s a statement on the feedback page saying to leave honest feedback.

I actually felt there was a need for change, but my thought was that the seller should have to leave their feedback before the buyer could leave there’s. The reason why I liked this idea is I frequently had sellers actually wait to leave my feedback until I posted mine and it was clear there were doing this to leave themselves an opportunity to retaliate if I left them a Negative regardless of the fact that I paid instantly and did nothing wrong.

I agree with Scott. There are a lot of sellers out there that really abused the Feedback system. However, what I don’t get is why eBay chose such an all or nothing solution. Scott illustrated one good way to solve this problem. There are many other good solutions. But eBay went with the totalitarian route.

I think eBay is eventually going to be marginalized by someone that handles auctions in a safe way that is fair to both the buyers and the sellers…
